EXPORT OF TIMBER IN LOG FORM AND
SAWN
Following the implementation of new legislation on 1st July 1999, the
export of unprocessed logs has been restricted. This has been done to
enhance the return to Camerounians from the timber industry, and is in
line with increased environmental concerns on the effects of long term
logging.
EXPORT IN LOG FORM IS PROHIBITED
FOR THE FOLLOWING SPECIES:
Wenge
Bubinga
Ovengkol
Afromosia
These species must be sawn to final specification within
Cameroon.
